Concrete fence installation cost — what it depends on

Installation is quoted separately, on request, after the quote for the elements and transport. What its cost depends on: length, height, foundation, terrain, access, water and electricity.

Assembly of a precast concrete fence is quoted separately, on request, after you confirm the quote for the elements and transport. The cost of assembly is calculated for the specific site: it depends on the length and height of the fence, the foundation, the ground and access to it.

Why the assembly cost is not in the price list

The prices in the price list are for the elements — the panels and the posts — per linear metre, excl. VAT. Assembly is on-site work, and two plots of the same length rarely require the same work. That is why its cost is given in a separate quote, once the ground is known.

The order is as follows:

  1. You send an enquiry with the length, the height and a few photos of the ground.
  2. Usually within 4 working hours you receive a quote for the fence elements and transport.
  3. You confirm it and tell us you want assembly.
  4. You receive a separate assembly quote based on the site.
  5. Once you have the full bill, a contract, an invoice and a deposit of at least 20 % follow.

This way you decide on assembly when you already know what the fence costs.

What the cost of assembling concrete fences depends on

The factors that matter most are:

  • the length of the fence and the number of sides — each side ends with a post, and corners and branches have separate posts;
  • the height, i.e. the number of panel rows — 5, 6 or 7 rows at 150, 180 and 210 cm;
  • the type and volume of the foundation — pad footings or a plinth;
  • the ground — level or sloping, stable or unstable soil;
  • access to the property and the possibility of unloading close to the fence line;
  • water and electricity on the plot;
  • local prices of cement, aggregates, reinforcement and formwork for the foundation.

There may be an extra cost when an old fence has to be demolished or something has to be done beyond the assembly itself. We state this in advance, in the assembly quote.

The foundation: pad footings or a plinth

The foundation is the largest part of the on-site work. There are two options.

Pad footings — about 40 × 40 × 80 cm under each post. The posts are concreted into them, and the first row of panels is sunk 5–10 cm into the ground. This is the cheaper option and is sufficient on stable soil.

Strip plinth — about 20 × 70 cm along the whole fence line. It is used on unstable soil and with greater differences in level. It costs more, because there is more concrete and formwork, but it closes the bottom edge of the fence.

Standard posts are 285 cm long, of which 80 cm go into the foundation. The two options are compared in detail in the article pad footings or strip plinth.

Sloping ground

On a slope the fence is assembled in steps: each bay between two posts stays horizontal, and the foundation follows the levels. Levelling each bay is extra work and is included in the price. How each case is solved — in the article on fences on sloping ground.

How long assembly takes

A typical fence — a few dozen up to about 100 linear metres — is ready in 2–3 days with prepared ground and delivered materials. For longer fences the timeframe is stated in the quote. The assembly crew pours the foundations and assembles the fence; you do not need to be on site.

Assembly is also possible in winter — at temperatures above −5 °C and with ground free of snow. More in the article on assembly in winter.

What to send for the quote

The more complete the enquiry, the more accurate the assembly quote:

  • the length of each side of the fence and the desired height;
  • the model and colour, if you have chosen them;
  • a few photos of the ground showing the slope;
  • whether there is an old fence to demolish;
  • whether a lorry can reach the fence line.

What the elements cost

The elements cost from 37 to 129 €/m excl. VAT depending on the model, height and colour; the price includes the panels and the posts. Transport is stated in the quote. For fences longer than 200 linear metres, Liner, Simple, Rain Guard and Stacked Stone also have an industrial price — from 32 €/m excl. VAT. Prices by model are in the price list, and the assembly stages — on the assembly page.

The warranty is 15 years for all fences, with a warranty card and a certificate of conformity.

Next step

Send an enquiry with the length, the height and photos of the ground. If you want assembly, say so in the message — the quote for it comes after the quote for the elements is confirmed.
