Factory of precast concrete fences

About Konkret Line

A factory of precast concrete fences since 2011 in Măgurele, near Bucharest: three indoor production halls and our own concrete laboratory. Our catalogue for Europe includes 22 models.

Our results

  • 3production halls
  • 42km of fencing per year
  • 2340satisfied customers
  • 22assembly crews

Technology and quality

All concrete fences look alike, but they are not the same. At first glance it is simple: cement, aggregates, steel bars and whatever else comes to hand. The difference lies in the recipe and in how much water goes into it. Ours uses 42.5R Portland cement, classic reinforcement with steel bars and an admixture package developed with our suppliers and tested in the Holcim laboratory.

Growth

Thanks to our continuous investment, the third hall is complete. We cast indoors, not in the yard: the concrete cures protected from rain and wind, so production runs all year round.

Casting a new panel mould on a scale

Over 60 models since 2011

Since 2011 we have developed over 60 panel models — our catalogue for Europe includes 22 models. Before going into production, every new model goes through focus groups with our customers, architects and property developers. We deliver to Bulgaria and Romania, as well as to Austria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Greece and Serbia.

Our products

A fence does not need to impress. It needs to suit the house and the street. That is why our reliefs are calm: stripes, squares, boards, rubble stone and, on the openwork models, slots and openings. Every model comes in grey and in white; the relief is on one side, the back is left unfinished.

Marble powder from Greece in a hand — one of the raw materials for the premium white panels
  • Durability

Over 50 years — according to laboratory tests and to what we see on site with the fences installed in our first years. 42.5R Portland cement, little water in the mix and indoor curing: this is how the panel withstands rain, sun and frost.

  • The recipe of the premium panels

The white panels are cast from white cement for decorative concrete and quarried marble in four fractions — from powder to grains of up to 6 mm. The marble provides more than the colour: the hard, irregularly shaped grains bond firmly with the cement. The colour is in the concrete itself, not in a coating.

  • Silicone moulds

The only precast fence factory in Romania that casts its panels in moulds made of two-component platinum-cure silicone — the same material used for dental impressions. It reproduces the finest details and keeps exact dimensions from panel to panel.

  • Batching and curing

The Teka mixer automatically batches all ingredients using sensors, so every batch has the same mechanical properties. After casting, the concrete cures under an acrylic membrane that stops the water from evaporating, so that the cement hydrates fully; this also makes the concrete more watertight.

  • Our own model development

We develop our models ourselves. Our designers model the relief in 3D. The master model is milled from aluminium on a water-cooled 3-axis CNC milling machine; large parts are 3D-printed in resin with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. We make the reinforcement and the formwork for the moulds in our own metalwork shop, and we test the concrete in our own laboratory.

  • The admixtures in the concrete

A 5th-generation superplasticiser based on polycarboxylate ether (0.5%) reduces the water in the mix: strength develops faster (+40% at 24 h, +30% at 7 days, +20% at 28 days), and the final compressive strength exceeds 55 MPa on day 28. Styrene-butadiene latex (5%) gives 50% higher impact, flexural and tensile strength. A calcium nitrate-based accelerator (1%) shortens the setting time and protects the reinforcement from corrosion.

  • Impregnation — on request

On request, we treat the panels and posts with Konkretol impregnator, developed with a partner specialising in concrete protection. It penetrates the surface layer, interrupts the capillaries and limits water penetration — the fence stays clean and even in tone.
