Concrete fence panels — dimensions, reinforcement and price per panel

The Konkret Line concrete fence panel is 183 × 30 × 4–5 cm, reinforced, 46–61 kg. The dimensions of all panels, how they fit into the posts, the price per panel and per metre — in grey and in white, excl. VAT.

Our standard concrete fence panel is 183 × 30 × 4–5 cm (thickness depending on the relief), reinforced, weighing 46–61 kg depending on the model. It costs €14 in grey and €23 in white, excl. VAT. This applies to 18 of the 22 models in the catalogue; the other four have a larger panel.

Panel dimensions and weight

Model Panel size Weight Fence height Price per panel, excl. VAT (grey / white)
18 models (Simple, Liner, Rain Guard and others) 183 × 30 × 4–5 cm 46–61 kg 150 / 180 / 210 cm — 5 / 6 / 7 rows 14 / 23 €
Space 183 × 31.5 cm 51 kg 150 / 180 / 210 cm — 5 / 6 / 7 rows 18 / 30 €
Douglas and Cedar 200 × 40 × 4–5 cm 77 kg 160 / 200 cm — 4 / 5 rows 24 / 40 €
Stacked Stone 200 × 50 × 4–5 cm 82 kg 150 / 200 cm — 3 / 4 rows 18 / 30 €

Thickness is not one figure for all models. It depends on the relief and is 4–5 cm at the thickest part. That is why thickness is looked at together with weight and reinforcement.

The heaviest of the 183 × 30 cm panels is Simple — 61 kg. It is solid, with no raised relief. The lightest is Avalon — 46 kg, with horizontal slats and gaps between them. The weight of each model is given on its page in the catalogue.

How many panels go into one fence

The panels are stacked one above the other between two posts. With 30 cm panels, the fence height is the number of rows × 30 cm: 150 cm is 5 rows, 180 cm — 6, 210 cm — 7. For 240 cm, 8 rows and reinforced K9i posts are used.

The section between two posts is called a bay. It equals the panel length + 7 cm: with a 183 cm panel the bay is 1.90 m, with a 200 cm panel — 2.07 m. With reinforced K9i posts, 10 cm is added and the 183 cm bay becomes 1.93 m.

At a height of 180 cm there are about 3.2 panels per linear metre. The exact number is calculated in whole bays — for each side separately, rounded up. The calculation for 25 and 50 metres is in the article how many panels and posts a fence needs.

How the panel is assembled with the posts

The posts go in first: excavation, the post in the hole, concrete. Then the panels slide into the grooves of the posts, row by row. The first row is set 5–10 cm into the ground where the terrain allows, so that there is no gap at the bottom.

The only wet process is the concrete for the foundations. The panels are assembled dry. Most models have a simple joint between the panels, while Visio and Avalon have tongue and groove. The base is on individual footings or on a strip plinth; the difference is explained in the article footings or plinth, and the whole sequence of work on the Installation page.

Reinforcement and concrete

Every panel is made of reinforced concrete with conventional steel-bar reinforcement and 42.5R Portland cement. The compressive strength is over 55 MPa at 28 days.

The mix includes a 5th-generation polycarboxylate ether-based superplasticiser. It reduces the water content and the strength develops faster. The admixture package was developed with our suppliers and tested in the Holcim laboratory. The Teka mixer doses all ingredients automatically, so that the concrete is the same batch after batch.

Price per panel and price per metre

The price of one panel is in the table above, and the price of each post — in the price list. The K9 intermediate post costs €21 in grey and €35 in white, excl. VAT.

The price per linear metre is calculated from one bay: the panels in it plus one post, divided by the length of the bay. At 180 cm in grey this is 6 × €14 + €21 = €105 per 1.90 m bay. Rounded up, the metre is €56 excl. VAT. Prices for all models and heights are in the price list.

For fences longer than 200 linear metres, Simple, Liner, Rain Guard and Stacked Stone also have an industrial price — with a cheaper panel and the same formula.

Grey or white

Grey is the standard. The white panel is cast from white Portland cement and quarried marble in four fractions — from powder to 6 mm grains. The colour is in the concrete itself, not in paint, and the fence is not painted after assembly.

For the 183 × 30 cm panels, the difference is €9 per panel. The colour is chosen at the start, because it applies to the whole fence.

Relief and series

The 22 models are in four series: Modern Line, Simple Line, Aero Line and Nature Line. The relief is on the front face only. The back of the panel is left unfinished; if you wish, it can be skimmed with adhesive and fibreglass mesh at any time after assembly.

The relief is cast in silicone moulds, so the lines and edges come out crisp. On Rain Guard these are strips with a bevelled edge, on Stacked Stone — layered stone, on Douglas and Cedar — boards. All models with their heights and prices are in the catalogue.

Transport and unloading

The panels and posts travel on our own transport from the factory near Bucharest. The lorry and the unloading need access to the site; the panels are not carried by hand across the whole property.

Transport is calculated per lorry — half or full — and its price is in the quote. What to prepare before delivery is described on the Delivery page. Installation is quoted separately, on request.

What to check before buying panels

When comparing panels from different manufacturers, ask about the same things:

  • size and weight together — thickness on its own says little;
  • the reinforcement — what it is and how it is placed in the panel;
  • the concrete strength — its compressive strength class;
  • what the price includes — only the panel or the post as well, and whether the price is per piece or per metre;
  • the documents — test reports and a certificate of conformity;
  • a sample or an installed fence that you can inspect up close.

If you divide the total for the elements by the length, the metre comes out slightly more expensive than in the price list. The reason is that the bays are whole. More on comparing quotes — in the article how much a concrete fence costs.

With every fence of ours you receive a 15-year warranty card and a certificate of conformity. More answers — in the frequently asked questions.
